Even New Hampshire, the lowest rate in the country, reported 678 burglaries in 2024. You can't change your state's number. You can change what a stranger sees when he walks past your house.

The Math
What a break-in costs you. And what closing the gaps costs instead.
If he picks your house
| Average loss, daytime home burglary | $4,402 |
| Average loss, nighttime home burglary | $4,372 |
| Chance police clear the case | about 1 in 7 |
| Stolen cash or jewelry ever recovered | about 2% |
| One break-in | ~$4,400 |
If he walks on by
| 3-inch screws for the door strike | $2–$12 |
| A dowel for the sliding-door track | $3–$7 |
| Window pins + a door guard | $10–$30 |
| Two motion lights | $15–$60 |
| Habits, a mail hold, a neighbor | Free |
| One time | ~$30–$110 + $37 |
One prevented break-in pays for this set more than a hundred times over. And the whole set costs about what one month of a monitored alarm does — about $25 to $60 a month, often on a one- to three-year contract.
Losses, clearance and recovery: FBI, Crime in the United States, 2024, Tables 23, 24 and 25 (recovery: 1.8% of stolen cash, 2.1% of stolen jewelry, all reported thefts). Hardware: typical U.S. store prices, 2026. Monitoring: NerdWallet, SafeWise and Parks Associates, 2025–2026.
Figures are averages and ranges; your home, region and choices will differ. The books are general safety information, not a guarantee of any outcome or saving. Prices change; check current costs yourself.

A Note from the Author
Thirty-one years of walking through other people's houses.

For thirty-one years I was the crime-prevention specialist at a county sheriff's office in southern Ohio. Anybody who asked got a free walk-through of their house. I did about three thousand of them — a lot of them for widows, a lot of them the week after a break-in down the street.
I never sold a lock, a camera or a contract. I'd start at the curb, point at the problem, tell you what it cost to fix, and tick a box. Almost every house had the same handful of problems, and hardly any of it cost real money.
My husband passed in 2019. Now I live alone too, with a stubborn old dog named Biscuit. So I wrote the walk down, every stop in order, so you can do it this weekend without waiting for anybody to come out.
Do the walk. If it isn't worth it, get every cent back.
Take a full 30 days with all three books. Walk your house, fix the front door, tick the boxes. If you don't feel safer and surer about your home, ask for a refund through Hotmart within 30 days and you'll get every cent back — no questions asked — and you keep the books.

Questions Folks Ask First
My neighborhood is safe. Do I really need this?
Most of the houses I walked were in safe neighborhoods — that's usually why the back door wasn't locked. Just over half of home burglaries happen in the daytime, and even New Hampshire, the lowest-rate state, reported 678 burglaries in 2024. Check your state above. The first fixes take an afternoon.
Is this about guns, or fighting anyone off?
No. There's no weapons or confrontation advice in these books. The whole idea is to make your house the harder choice so nobody tries the door. If someone does get in, Book 2 shows you how to lock yourself in a room and what to tell 911.
I rent, or live in an apartment or a mobile home.
Every stop has a version for you: no-drill fixes you can take with you, and what to ask your landlord for in writing. Book 3 has a whole renter's cart.
Is this fear-mongering like everything else?
The opposite. The point is to replace worry and monthly fees with cheap, plain fixes. Every number comes from a real source — the FBI's 2024 crime data, police crime-prevention guides, and a survey of 422 burglars — and the books tell you plainly where not to spend your money. No company paid to be in them, and there are no affiliate links.
I'm not handy. Can I really do this?
Most fixes need a screwdriver or nothing at all, and each one says how long it takes. Where a job really needs a handyman, the book says so, and tells you what to ask for so nobody sells you more than you need.
How do I get it, and how fast?
Right after checkout, Hotmart emails you the download links, usually within minutes. They're PDFs: they open on any phone, tablet or computer, and print fine at home. The large-print edition is included with the set.
Can I buy just one book?
Yes. Book 1 is $19, and Books 2 and 3 are $17 each. The set costs less than the three bought one by one, and all three bonuses come with the set.
What if it's not for me?
Then it costs you nothing. You've got 30 days to ask for a refund through Hotmart, no questions asked, and you keep the books.
